Swallow’s Nest is the annual poetry journal published by Oregon Christian Writers. The idea for such work started with Mary McIntosh and Rachel Lulich in 2018. Mary gave the journal the name Swallow’s Nest based on a favorite verse in Psalm 84. After the first round of submissions was gathered, the project stalled briefly, but then was finally hatched with layout and design by Linda L. Kruschke in late 2019.
The second annual issue was published in December 2020 and included photos submitted by some of the poets.
All OCW members are welcome to submit poems for future issues of Swallow’s Nest. A call for submissions—with guidelines, deadline, and format requirements—will be issued in early summer of each year.
