“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18 nkjv)
Dear Lord, winter has arrived again, and for many of us, it is our favorite season—a time for being thankful, sharing hope, giving benevolence, and appreciating family and friends. These things are Your will, O Lord, not just for the holidays, but for every season of every year.
Our hearts overflow with gratitude. As writers, we are grateful for our published works and those writings that one day will be published. We are thankful for Your guiding hand as we write and for opportunities to share our poems, articles, stories, and books with interested readers.
Faithful Lord, we have hope too that things will improve spiritually and economically in this coming year. May plagues go away, needless violence end, and pain and suffering lessen.
Most importantly, help us reach out to encourage a lost and needy world. Then one day, when the final season arrives and harvest ends, we will be thankful that our writings made a difference for the kingdom of God and in the souls of many.
Jesus, You truly are the reason for this season, and, for that, we are eternally grateful.
We look forward to a meaningful Christmas and a safe, prosperous New Year.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
