Cascade Christian Writers FAQ
Critique Groups & Community
Do you have Critique Groups?
Yes! We currently run five online critique groups for Cascade Christian Writers members. Our members write in most genres, so whether you’re drafting devotionals or epic fiction, you’re in good company.
Do you have gatherings?
Yes, and we love them. A lot.
You do not have to be a paid member to attend our conferences, but paid members enjoy discounted rates. We host three conferences each year:
• Summer (multiple days) in Oregon
• Fall (one day) in Oregon
• Spring (one day) on Zoom
We also offer Members Circle, a monthly Zoom gathering for fellowship, learning, and celebrating writing wins.

Scholarships, Volunteering & Leadership
Do you have scholarships?
Sometimes. Scholarship funds are available at certain times, though not always. You may also want to explore volunteering. We often offer discounts for those who generously give their time and talents.
Do you have leadership opportunities?
We certainly do. In fact, we’re known for bringing people into leadership with mentoring, training, and plenty of support. We believe deeply in our people, and without leadership, CCW would truly stumble. We are very grateful for both our leaders and members.

Beliefs & Organization
Do you have a statement of faith?
You can find our Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct here.
Why did you change your name from Oregon Christian Writers?
As you may know, for over sixty years, we were Oregon Christian Writers. But more than 40% of our members live outside of Oregon. We wanted our name to reflect who we serve and to align with the branding of the Cascade Christian Writers Conference and the Cascade Christian Writing Contest. Our membership voted for this change in September of 2023.
Donations & Support
How is Cascade Christian Writers set up? May I make a donation?
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation under the name “Cascade Christian Writers.” Yes, donations are tax-deductible. Currently, 30% of all donations support our tuition assistance fund to help writers attend conferences.
You can donate here or mail a check to:
CCW
PO Box 22
Gladstone, OR 97027
Checks should be made payable to “CCW.”
Thank you! Without donations and membership fees, CCW simply would not exist.
Why should I consider donating to Cascade Christian Writers?
Because words matter, and writers need community to keep going. Your donation helps us offer conferences, critique groups, leadership development, and tuition assistance for writers who might not otherwise be able to attend. You’re not just supporting an organization—you’re investing in stories that point people toward hope.
Where does my donation go?
We’re glad you asked. Currently, 30% of all donations are directed to our tuition assistance fund, helping writers afford conference attendance. The rest supports programs, events, and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps CCW running smoothly (and faithfully).
I’m not a writer. Can I still support CCW?
Absolutely. Many of our donors simply believe in the power of Christian storytelling and want to help writers answer their calling. Or perhaps they are in the business of editing or publishing. We’re grateful for every gift, whether large, small, one-time, or ongoing.
Does my support really make a difference?
Yes. Truly. CCW exists because of faithful donors and members who believe that encouraging writers is kingdom work. Every gift helps someone take the next step on their writing journey.
